Visit the Veterans Memorial Museum and Gardens

In keeping with the true meaning of Memorial Day, visitors to Branson are encouraged to stop by the Veterans Memorial Museum, located on Highway 76. This powerful museum features ten halls of military history, showcasing names and stories from American conflicts including World Wars I & II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf.

Hours of operations from March to December are from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm Sunday and 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday thru Saturday.

Veterans Memorial Museum is the heartfelt vision of renowned bronze sculptor, Fred Hoppe, who personally collected thousands of items that were put on display when the facility opened. Many items and exhibits have since been added as veterans and their families have loaned or donated items to the 18,000 square foot museum.

Returning visitors will be thrilled to discover that Fred Hoppe’s stunning sculpture of 50 soldiers storming a beach (each represents an actual soldier) is back from storage and on display in front of the museum.

A second inspirational sculpture by Hoppe became property of Branson City before its installation in the Memorial Garden located at the intersection of Highway 76 and Roark Valley Road for public viewing during entrance.

Patriotic Themed Shows Around Town

Memorial Day Weekend features some of the most patriotic live shows that Branson is famous for presenting each year. Throughout Memorial Day Weekend, various Branson theaters feature special songs and tributes dedicated to veterans and U.S. military personnel.

Some popular theatrical productions featuring patriotic themes remain constant year after year but slight variances seem to occur within their seasonal performances that include country music shows as well as gospel events and magic shows.

Tickets for Memorial Day shows should be booked in advance because these performances tend to reach maximum capacity before the event due to the high number of visiting spectators.
